WHAT MY EXPERIENCE AT THE SERGEANT INFANTRY SCHOOL TAUGHT ME FOR LIFE

Laurent Moreschi

There are experiences that mark a life and forge a character. My time at the Sergeant infantry school in 1999, in my 25th year, is one of those events that transformed me, well beyond the military framework. This intense period instilled in me values and skills that still resonate today in my daily life, whether in entrepreneurship, project management or my personal development.

1. Discipline: A Structure for Success

One of the first things you learn in a military school is discipline. Getting up early, performing tasks with precision and respecting a strict framework taught me rigor and organization. This habit of structure and commitment still accompanies me today: in entrepreneurship, the management of time and my energy.

2. Resilience in the face of challenges

Intense training, fatigue and constant pressure were constant tests of my will. Learning to stand firm in the face of difficulties and to push my limits helped me develop a resilience that serves me today, both in my professional and personal projects. Each obstacle overcome is a victory and a step closer to the goal.

3. Leadership and team management

The Infantry School is not only an individual learning experience, it is also a school of leadership. Learning to motivate, lead and inspire a group in complex situations is a skill that is directly transferable to the world of work and entrepreneurship. Knowing how to adapt to each person's personalities and understanding group dynamics are valuable assets.

4. Team spirit and mutual trust

In a military environment, trust and mutual support are paramount. You never succeed alone, and this truth applies as much in business as it does in life. Building strong relationships and learning to rely on others has given me a better understanding of the importance of networking and collaboration to achieve ambitious goals.

5. Stress management and decision making under pressure

Dealing with situations where every decision counts, learning to keep your cool under pressure and reacting quickly are essential skills that I developed during my time at the Infantry School. Today, whether it is when making strategic decisions or in times of crisis, this ability to analyze quickly and react effectively accompanies me on a daily basis.

Conclusion: A school of life

In my opinion, the army offers us a great opportunity to develop ourselves and acquire personal skills that toughen us up and prepare us to face a difficult and demanding world. My experience at the infantry school was not just military training, it was a real school of life. It taught me to face adversity, to structure my actions, to work in a team and to always move forward, whatever the difficulties. Today, these lessons serve me daily and are an integral part of my vision of leadership, entrepreneurship and personal development. This rigor and this ability to withstand trials are valuable qualities that deserve to be more highlighted in today's society.
